Natura Naturata
 

Solo Exhibition, Kujira Space, Fujisawa, Japan July 2010

The site-specific installation, "Natura Naturata" rejuvenates our connection to the earth by displaying a variety of soil pigments on the gallery wall. This installation and works on paper were created with natural soils collected from sites the artist has a strong connection to, including three samples from the Shonan area surrounding the gallery. Also a playful video work titled, "Mikan Story" was on display.

Lunar Reflections

Starting in 2000 Jack attempted to write words and characters with the light of the moon. Playing with its natural light he found a mysterious connection with the universe. The works developed into this full-scale installation of Video, LED Photographs, and Film Negatives in 2010.

Is art practice a process of making or remaking things in the world? These photographic works are based otn stories of the townspeople in the old silk manufacturing town of Kiryu. This innovative exhibition reminds us of the connection between our lives and the land we live on, reclaiming the spirit of place.
